Spring Celebration: Birds, Bugs & Blooms
It is almost time for the Riverfront Fort Wayne annual Spring Celebration at Promenade Park. It’s planned for Saturday, March 23, from 12:00-3:00 p.m. This year’s theme is Birds, Bugs & Blooms as we celebrate the season of new beginnings and all of the living things that awaken with the return of warmer weather and sunny skies.
Two community partners will join the celebration:
- See the amazing birds of prey from Soarin’ Hawk Raptor Rehabilitation Center. The presentation will begin at 12:00 p.m., so make sure to arrive early to grab a front row seat!
- The Allen County Public Library will join the fun with an interactive bug craft and a spring themed book to read in their designated reading space.
Plenty of free family activities will be available to the public:
- Create your own “bug hotel,” which you can use to place bugs in and examine their habits and features. Please remember that the bugs prefer short stays in the hotel, and make sure to return them back to nature once you are done!
- Check out items from the Explorer’s Library to do your own investigating. Bug nets, magnifying glasses and binoculars will be available to rent in 10-minute increments.
- Explore a blooming scavenger hunt—while the real flowers may not be out yet, we bet you can find some painted substitutes around the park…
This event is sure to be one to remember, so let’s celebrate spring together at Promenade Park!
