River Set Go 2021

Riverfront Fort Wayne and Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation invite you to join us for River, Set, Go! This exciting event incorporates the 6th annual Fort Wayne Dragon Boat Races and will take place Saturday, August 7th at Promenade Park. This year, we have added a Friday Night Paddles-Up Party, various vendor and information booths, Calm Water Sensory Tent, involvement with local Chinese cultural groups, and many fun activities throughout the evening.

Whether you sponsor the event or build your team and race alongside us down the St. Marys River, you are joining the Riverfront movement to improve the quality of life in Northeast Indiana. By reconnecting with our community’s past through our rivers, we can envision the future—together.

Included in the packet is a brief itinerary, sponsorship, and registration information. No matter how you decide to join the journey, know that public safety is our top priority and your contribution goes above and beyond this one event: we use the proceeds to open new opportunities for members of our community who may have barriers to using their rivers. Our rivers are for all, and only together can we rise.

Your participation is vital to the success of this event, and we want to make your resources go the distance. We provide teambuilding experiences for your group and a totally unique event experience. We look forward to speaking with you more about your involvement in Riverfront Fort Wayne and the Fort Wayne Dragon Boat Races.

Friday

5PM: Paddles Up Party for the Dragon Boat Teams and open to the public URB band performance

Saturday

9:30AM: Opening Ceremonies with Mayor Tom Henry in the Old National Bank Plaza

10AM: Fort Wayne Dragon Boat Races begin; Kids crafts, activities, vendor and information booths, face painting, bubble party in the Auer Lawn

10AM – 4PM: Calm Water Sensory Tent

1PM: Lunch break with Steersman Auction, Spicy Ramen Eating Contest, voting and awards for best team name, team shirt, and most team spirit

3PM: Awards ceremony for race winners in the Sweetwater Bandshell West

4PM: Intro to Dragon Boating open to the public on the North Dock

5:30PM: Floating Yoga open to the public in the Ambassador Enterprises Amphitheatre

7PM: Paddle Parade open to the public

7:30PM: Band performance in Sweetwater Bandshell

9:30PM: Floating firepit finale
